Anyone interested in taking part in a Catafalque Party for ANZAC Day Services are to e-mail myself (mukul.suresh@bhhscu.com) NLT 2000h 12 MAR 14. The services will be held at Matthew Pearce Public School and Hills Adventist College on Thursday 10 APR 14. 18 cadets are required to perform the two services. All members are eligible to apply as long as you feel your drill standard is high enough to perform the ceremony faultlessly. Remember that you will be representing the school, the unit and the AAC at these events so drill, dress and bearing must be perfect.

All Cadets of BHHSACU.

There are a number of administrative details that need to be sorted out ASAP for this year to run smoothly. Please read through this post carefully to ensure you submit all the information required.

1) All cadets, regardless of whether you have given me or CPL Wong your email before, are to fill in their email in this form:http://goo.gl/tgVCf0 . The first parade of 2014 for BHHSACU will be on Thursday 6th February 2014. This will be on the same day as the Swimming Carnival, so cadets will need to bring their uniforms in a separate bag.

1) Congratulations to CDTCPL Sherwin Titus who has been promoted to the rank of Cadet Sergeant. He will now take up the role of Training Sergeant for BHHSACU. I wish him all the best in this position and look forward to working closely with him for the rest of this year and through next year.

2) Water bottles must be carried by everyone at all times. Make sure you stay hydrated during the day and be sure to stick to the shade wherever possible.

3) The standard of dress and bearing needs to be improved. If you're feeling too hot in your DPCU, you are permitted to remove your undershirt. Your DPCU Coat must be worn AT ALL TIMES unless otherwise directed.

4) The Year 12 March Out Parade was postponed until after the HSC. The date has been set for 21 NOV 13 (Thursday Week 7). It will be held at lunchtime, so we are on show to the school.

5) The Annual Dining-In and Presentation Night will be held on 20 NOV 13 (Wednesday Week 7). The timings and venue are TBA but the dress code is formal.

I would like to congratulate all that attended AFX 13, on not only your attitude, ability and enthusiasm but also on showing all that you know your stuff.

To my staff a job well done, looking forward to your PAR's.

For those who were unable to attend, I think the CSM summed it up.

As the OC it gave me a great insight on your competency in the field and I have made a list of cadets that I will consider for further promotions courses. Almost all of you stepped up to the plate and some only missed that plate by inches.

AFX 14 may be run on a COY level of back with 20BN; either way I am positive it will be a huge success, please arrange your study timetable accommodatingly next year.

My appreciation is also extended to 20BN for accommodating BHHSACU, and the fine work put in by the cadets and ACS.

To everyone who attended AFX 2013, I congratulate you on what has been a very successful week. No doubt there were some fantastic activities to take part in (such as the WTTS and Live Fire activities). You have represented Baulkham Hills High School Army Cadet Unit to a high standard and you are to be thanked for that. I had a word with the 20 BN RSM after the exercise and she was more than happy to have had us join her battalion.

For those who did not attend, you really have missed out on some great opportunities. These are the kind of opportunities that only come once in your cadet careers. Having 2 Bushmaster PMVs and 84mm Carl Gustav rifles to have a play with was indeed a wonderful experience. As was having both the live fire and WTTS shoot in the one week.

Undoubtedly, everyone who attended have made new friends, some of which you'll keep for most of your lives.

  • AAC ID Card - THIS IS REQUIRED FOR YOU TO GET ONTO THE MILITARY BASE

If you didn't come to cadets today and are going on AFX this year, make sure you attend next week to get your gear and admin sorted out. This is your last chance to get prepared. If you don't show up to get issued, you won't go on AFX.
