A MANDATORY recall of all field gear will be undertaken in the coming two Thursday afternoons. EVERYONE (regardless of rank) is to hand back ALL their field gear either this Thursday (31 JUL 14) or next (7 AUG 14). There should be no reason not to be able to hand it in. Let your friends know. 

Sorry to have to say this, but the option to keep issued equipment at home was a privilege abused by some members of this unit at the cost of their peers. As a result, this privilege has been withdrawn. From now on, all field equipment will be issued prior to a field exercise and returned immediately after. 

Also, if you know of someone who is no longer a member of BHHSACU and still has some equipment, either ask them to hand it back in and we will not pursue it further (it is a legal offence to maintain possession of issued service property if you are no longer part of the organisation) or let us know of who the person is.

AFX 2014 will be held in the first week of the Term 3 school holidays (20 SEP 14 - 27 SEP 14). The unit has a maximum of 30 positions available. It will be offered on a first-come first-served basis. If you are interested in going, e-mail myself ( with your name, rank and platoon. 

Remember, only the first 30 will be going. Unfortunately, 4 Platoon will not be able to attend this AFX.

The unit has asked all members to contribute ONE can of food (anywhere between $1-3 worth) per month. This collection will be donated to various Christmas Appeals across Sydney. We are calling on the generosity of all members to please help out those who need it most.

All members of BHHSACU are to attend this event.

LOCATION: The Form Up Point is set at St Angela's Primary School - 40 Harrington Avenue, Castle Hill NSW 2154.

TIMINGS: ALL MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE AT THE PRIMARY SCHOOL NO LATER THAN 0800. The program commences at 0900 and will run for about an hour so we would as you to advise your parents to stick around for the ceremony.

DRESS: Ceremonial DPCU if you have it. If you do not have full Ceremonial DPCU, you will need to wear your best set of Barracks DPCU. Everyone will need to bring a japara/raincoat in case of wet weather. 

WEATHER: In case of a change of venue due to weather, we will keep you informed through the website and the Facebook Page. A change of clothes is recommended in case your DPCU get drenched after the ceremony.

If you want to go anywhere after the ceremony (ie. not straight home), you will have to change out of DPCU into civilian attire.

Anyone interested in taking part in a Catafalque Party for ANZAC Day Services are to e-mail myself ( NLT 2000h 12 MAR 14. The services will be held at Matthew Pearce Public School and Hills Adventist College on Thursday 10 APR 14. 18 cadets are required to perform the two services. All members are eligible to apply as long as you feel your drill standard is high enough to perform the ceremony faultlessly. Remember that you will be representing the school, the unit and the AAC at these events so drill, dress and bearing must be perfect.

There are a number of administrative details that need to be sorted out ASAP for this year to run smoothly. Please read through this post carefully to ensure you submit all the information required.

1) All cadets, regardless of whether you have given me or CPL Wong your email before, are to fill in their email in this form: . It is imperative that you do this ASAP so that your CadetNet account can be set up, and so that we have a method of communicating with the entire company. This must be completed NLT 11/3/14.

The first parade of 2014 for BHHSACU will be on Thursday 6th February 2014. This will be on the same day as the Swimming Carnival, so cadets will need to bring their uniforms in a separate bag.

1) Congratulations to CDTCPL Sherwin Titus who has been promoted to the rank of Cadet Sergeant. He will now take up the role of Training Sergeant for BHHSACU. I wish him all the best in this position and look forward to working closely with him for the rest of this year and through next year.

2) Water bottles must be carried by everyone at all times. Make sure you stay hydrated during the day and be sure to stick to the shade wherever possible.

3) The standard of dress and bearing needs to be improved. If you're feeling too hot in your DPCU, you are permitted to remove your undershirt. Your DPCU Coat must be worn AT ALL TIMES unless otherwise directed.

4) The Year 12 March Out Parade was postponed until after the HSC. The date has been set for 21 NOV 13 (Thursday Week 7). It will be held at lunchtime, so we are on show to the school. 

5) The Annual Dining-In and Presentation Night will be held on 20 NOV 13 (Wednesday Week 7). The timings and venue are TBA but the dress code is formal.
